Honey lover

Since I can remember, I have always used propolis mouth sprays and Manuka Honey drops when I am travelling into the cooler seasons, and in particular, Ski tripping season with my son. Due to the cold, windy weather, my throat has a tendency to get quite dry and sore, which is when I rely on my propolis mouth spray - every morning before skiing and I am good to go!

Like many, I’ve known for a long time that Manuka Honey is incredibly powerful thanks to its antimicrobial properties which help to ease sore throats (naturally) and so when I combined the Manuka droplets and propolis mouth spray, I know that I am giving myself the best opportunity for better health.

I remember my grandmother would put propolis liquid on half a spoon sprinkled with some sugar every morning before we would head off to school. It’s very common in Europe (where I grew up) to use honey and propolis liquid during the wintertime, as it helps to prevent sickness and supports the immune system.

Propolis is made by bees from plant resins, used to protect and sterilise the beehive. Considered as the immune defence mechanism for the whole hive, propolis is full of antioxidant properties.

Through these simple little health hacks, I know that I am infusing an abundance of benefits for myself and my family, whilst supporting my immune system in general.

When it comes to healthy staples, manuka honey is one of those essentials you need in your pantry. Multi-purposeful and super effective, Manuka Honey has an array of health benefits which include increasing collagen production for the skin (when applied topically), aiding sore throats and mouth ulcers, healing wounds and skin infections and even supporting your gut health.

An incredibly powerful option to be considered as a natural health medicine, Manuka Honey is safe for the whole family to use, with an abundance of antimicrobial properties and a delicious taste.

Manuka Honey is native to New Zealand, formulated from the bees that pollinate the flowers of the Manuka Bush. As part of this process, there is a powerful compound which is the combination of plant bioactives and bee structure - this is called propolis.

Although similar to mainstream honey, Manuka Honey contains additional compounds (MGO, DHA) that infuse an extra burst of goodness which is largely due to the antimicrobial activity that stems from its hydrogen peroxide content, and the propolis.

Travelling as a family means my handbag doubles as the staple bag for all health-related issues. During these times, especially when we’re on a plane, I like to have my manuka honey droplets handy to ensure mine and my families immune systems can get through any type of upper respiratory issues, such as a dry throat.

As the potency of Manuka Honey can vary drastically with different companies (even with some counterfeit Manuka products on the market) not all Manuka Honey products are created equal.

Australian By Nature sources Manuka Honey from their own apiaries in far north New Zealand, ensuring each batch of Manuka Honey is tested and certified by an accredited laboratory under the ISO17025 standard for its MGO (Methylglyoxal).

Produced by collecting honeybees from beehives located in high density, organic and pollution free Manuka Forest, Australian By Nature ensures the purest and high-grade Manuka, retaining all its natural properties and minimising contamination through a rigorous and precise practice.

To establish a high level of standard for Manuka Honey, there are Manuka grading systems (MGS, UMF & MGO) in place which determine the level of quality and standard based on the rating or number of products.

In compliance with these standards, Australian By Nature associates with these systems for all their products, to ensure complete transparency, credibility and quality.

Australian By Nature offers a selection of high-grade Manuka Honey and Manuka Honey Blends which have been harvested from the organic and pollution free Manuka Forest of Northern New Zealand.

In 1995, Australian By Nature beehive products were launched in Australia - fast tracking through to 2002, they were one of the very first Australian companies to introduce Manuka Honey to the Australian Market.

A pivotal time for the company, which continued through to today, where they currently offer an abundance of health and wellness products specifically focusing on developing unique natural products and complementary medicines sourced from pristine environments.
